Your Journey Begins

Your First Visit

Clinical Assessment

1

Clinical Consultation

Your initial osteopathic consultation lasts 60 minutes. We begin with a detailed clinical conversation to understand your symptoms.

We will discuss your primary symptoms, how they started, and what makes them better or worse. We'll explore how they affect your daily activities, work, and exercise. A comprehensive review of your medical history (past injuries, surgeries, illnesses, and medications) helps me safely understand the root cause of your pain.

2

Movement & Posture Assessment

We conduct a physical assessment to observe how your body moves and distributes load.

I will guide you through simple active movements to evaluate joint mobility, muscle tone, and coordination. For accuracy, you may be asked to undress to your underwear. If you prefer, wearing flexible gym shorts and a camisole/vest is completely fine—your comfort is always my priority. Orthopedic or neurological testing is also performed when needed to ensure clinical safety.

3

Clear Working Diagnosis

Following the examination, I will explain my clinical findings and diagnosis in plain, straightforward terms.

We'll discuss the physical drivers of your pain, what factors are maintaining it, and how manual therapy can help. I will answer any questions you have and lay out a clear timeline for your recovery. With your permission, I can also coordinate directly with your GP or other healthcare specialists if required for your ongoing care.

Treatment & Recovery

4

Hands-on Therapy

Treatment begins in your very first session, tailored precisely to your pain tolerance and lifestyle.

Depending on your diagnosis, therapy may include soft tissue release, joint articulation, muscle energy techniques, and gentle manipulation. The aim is to reduce localized inflammation, ease protective muscle guarding, and restore fluid joint movement. We will communicate constantly to ensure the treatment is always comfortable and safe for you.

5

Personalized Plan

We'll construct a simple, practical recovery plan to help you stay active and manage symptoms.

This includes expert advice on desk ergonomics, sleeping positions, stress management, and modifications to your sports training. If you need a more structured, progressive exercise rehabilitation program—such as targeted strengthening, biomechanical retraining, or running coaching—we can integrate these via dedicated Exercise & Rehabilitation sessions.

6

Continuity & Safety

Your initial osteopathic consultation is 60 minutes, and follow-up treatments are 45 minutes.

This ensures we never rush your clinical evaluation or follow-up therapy. To keep you safe, if you return after a long period without treatment or with a completely new injury, we will schedule a re-assessment session. This lets us update your medical records, check for new contraindications, and adjust your treatment path accordingly.

Preparation Guidelines

To ensure your first consultation runs smoothly, please review these key logistical requirements.

What to wear

Choose loose, comfortable layers. You may be asked to undress to your underwear; wearing flexible athletic shorts and a t-shirt or camisole is highly recommended. Avoid thick fabrics or restrictive sports bras, as these can limit structural movement analysis.

What to bring

Please bring a list of any current medications you are taking, along with any relevant clinical reports, scan results, or imaging (such as X-rays or MRIs) if available.
